Job Description:

Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the personnel and operations of the Detroit Market 's adult central campus, Children 's and Sinai-Grace ambulatory clinics. Provides direction for the overall development, management and integrity of clinic and access relationships and operations for the delivery of a set of specific goals and objectives that are aligned to the overall strategic objective of providing access to services at Detroit Medical Center. Also provides strategic leadership and oversight for the operations of Detroit Market 's Health Access Center (ambulatory and procedural scheduling) and Transfer Center, in addition to coordination of select third party vendor relationships. Identifies key opportunities in access, labor, and operations to enable Detroit Medical Center to provide the right access points based on data driven methodology, and also operationalize those access points in a way that is optimal for the patients, physicians, and employees it serves. Oversees Health Access Center functions that may include any combination of Scheduling, Registration, Physician Referral, Event Registration, and/or Insurance verification. Provides direction for the overall coordination of all transfers and direct admits from internal, as well as external facilities. Understands key workflows at a front-line level and defines streamlined operations to scale best practices across the market. Utilizes internal and external market data to identify key areas of opportunity for growth, program development, and/or consolidation of services. Works collaboratively across other market strategic business, sales, operations, and medical team members to identify the best solutions to treat the health of the Detroit Medical Center community. Develops and implements a proactive, patient-centric approach to health and healthcare that engages patients and physicians in prevention, wellness, care coordination and management with the goals of improving outcomes and reducing costs. Initiates or recommends personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Develops training programs and sets standards for implementation of programs across clinics and outpatient services, in addition to Detroit Market 's Health Access Center and Transfer Center.. Collaborates with executives and management teams to identify the need for policy development. Oversees the development of procedures/protocols. Assists with the development and administration of the departmental budget. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, Joint Commission requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.

Works collaboratively with the Executive Team and physicians to provide strategic planning and implementation support for transition to access and population management.Work with the facility CFO to develop and maintain operational budgets and responsible for the integrity of operational processes, both administrative and clinical, including building budgets, ensuring adequate human resources, and compliance with regulatory standards.Responsible for meeting profitability targets (reducing costs and enhancing growth), as well as pursuing additional opportunities to exceed planned metrics. Conducts detailed current state analyses of operations and workflows to identify key opportunities for growth, cost reduction, or positive patient, physician, or employee experience metrics.Analyzes and uses the information and data to guide the development and implementation of recommendations for transitional care and care management interventions that improve value to the patients and payers.Shares data with the appropriate stakeholders and works with Marketing, when applicable, to communicate accomplishments to the public.Works closely with Executive Leadership to facilitate optimal performance and collaboration for Tenet and Detroit Medical Center 's chief strategies. Works closely and collaborates with the medical community to identify areas of opportunity to enhance the health of the community. Designs and develops streamlined processes for hospital-based clinics to improve clinic operations, management, and access.Effectively establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with the medical staff, management team and staff to achieve best practice outcomes, improve clinical performance and corrective action plan responses.Coordinates and allocates human, technological, and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful manner.#LI-JS3

Qualifications:
Bachelor 's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent required. Master 's degree preferred. Five or more years of leadership experience working directly with physicians, physician clinics, and hospital executive leadership, including experience working with and developing operating relationships with management service organizations, managed care/health plan, IPA, ambulatory care, or hospital setting(s). Experience with call center operations and in risk contracts and/or Value Based Care initiatives desirable.Analytical ability to conceptualize well in unstructured, dynamic and/or multi-disciplinary environments requiring analysis, foresight, intuition and mature judgment, as well as a thorough knowledge of fundamental doctrines, theories, principles and practices of several disciplines, to find solutions to unusual or unprecedented problems.Communication and interpersonal skills requiring skill in overseeing and directing clinical and non-clinical staffs, ongoing contact with both internal and external customers and stakeholders to persuade and negotiate on situations which are controversial and/or sensitive and result in authoritative decisions. A mastery of a variety of communication modalities is required to include leading meetings, making formal presentations, and writing complex documents and managing complex relationships over time. Almost complete discretion in how and what to communicate is exercised.Project management skills including the ability to define program, project, or process objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, technological, and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful, yet timely, manner.Leadership skills including demonstrated willingness to pursue leadership roles with increasing levels of accountability comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and counseling skills, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances and garner support.Broad technical knowledge of the administration and operations of healthcare functions and facilities including human, legal, technological, fiscal and customer aspects of the delivery of care.Strong ability to use data and information in decision making to guide in development best practice solutions to improve operations and enhance growth.Competency in computer systems and software used in functional area including Word, Excel, Access (helpful) and PowerPoint.Ability to handle complex, ambiguous, and changing environments.Tenet Healthcare complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
