Join our team and find out why CMG is the place to be! Position Summary Cornerstone Pediatrics has 4 office locations. One office is located on Romeo Plank, south of 21 Mile Rd in Macomb Township. The other office is located on 9 Mile Rd, east of I-94 in St. Clair Shores. The third office is located on 10 Mile Rd & Little Mack in St. Clair Shores. The fourth office is located on Utica Rd and Moravian in Clinton Township. This position would be traveling to all 4 locations. Coordinates the daily operations of a physician practice. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as a liaison between practice providers and office employees, and between the practice and other clinical and administrative areas. Ensures that staffing is in place to meet the demands of the provider's work schedules. Coordinates utilization of float pool associates and maintains associate payroll information. May assist with office correspondence including invoices/statements, credit cards, petty cash, mileage forms, and reports per office policy. May perform clerical or technical roles/functions. Ensure staff members demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care to the patient population served. May assist with the evaluation of staff's job performance including attendance, quality, and quantity of work being performed. Assists with hiring decisions and terminations. Implements disciplinary actions as needed. Plans regular staff meetings. Offers suggestions to improve efficiency of all office sites as well as cost effectiveness. Assists with planning and purchasing of office equipment as needed. May assist with ordered treatments as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties. May interview patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. May administers medications including injectables according to approved procedures and provider instructions. Documents administration in patient's chart. May collects and package specimens for lab processing. Performs routine office lab tests, EKGs, X-Rays, and other procedures as ordered. Instructs patients regarding preparation for tests and signing consent forms when necessary. Enters orders as requested by provider per written Standing Orders Complies with CLIA, OSHA, and other regulatory agency standards. Participates in in-service programs as needed. Follows infection controls and safety policies. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS The qualifications/requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Within scope of job, this position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Certification program and/or graduate of a certified EMT program preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: BLS Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) prior to start/hire/transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for professional Rescuers Card will be accepted upon hire, but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from the AHA. Medical Assistant certification or registration required at hire/transfer date WORK EXPERIENCE: Two to three (2-3) years of medical office experience with progressive responsibilities required.
