Description: The Nursing Director for Ambulatory Clinic Operations
provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across
ambulatory care settings to advance the University of Toledo
Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values of Teamwork, Quality,
and Service. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality,
fiscally responsible nursing care while driving integration of
quality, regulatory compliance, research, and Magnet principles
across all ambulatory practice environments. The Nursing Director
for Ambulatory Clinic Operations partners with executive
leadership, physicians/providers, clinic managers, inpatient
nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support organizational
goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and service line growth.
Responsibilities include oversight of nursing practice standards,
regulatory readiness, clinical policy and procedure governance,
performance improvement, and project management aligned with
institutional priorities. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN) required. • Master’s degree in Nursing,
Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field
preferred. • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State
of Ohio. • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive healthcare
leadership experience. • Demonstrated experience in ambulatory
and/or acute care nursing leadership. • Experience with regulatory
compliance, accreditation, quality improvement, and performance
management. • Knowledge of Magnet principles and professional
nursing practice models preferred. • Strong leadership, strategic
planning, and project management skills. • Expertise in quality
improvement, regulatory standards, and clinical governance. •
Ability to collaborate effectively within complex academic and
healthcare systems. • Strong communication, analytical, and change
management capabilities. • Extensive experience managing care for
patients of all ages and demographics through the entire continuum
of care including outpatient, inpatient, and home care required. •
Strong understanding of Ambulatory Network/Providers required. •
Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, analysis and business
plan development required. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate
effectively within complex organizational structures required. •
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively either verbally or
orally required. • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, to
include specific areas of outreach and marketing preferred. •
Demonstrated ability to develop teams and manage successful
outcomes required. • Required to work flexible hours including
evenings, weekends, and holidays. • Previous experience with
accreditation including the Joint Commission. • Current experience
with PCs, fax machine, multi-line telephones, copier, and programs
in Microsoft Suite such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred
Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare
Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred. •
Knowledge of Magnet principles and professional nursing practice
models preferred. • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, to
include specific areas of outreach and marketing preferred.
