Job Description:
Marathon Petroleum Corporation seeks a skilled Senior Platforms
Engineer to join our dynamic IT and Cybersecurity team in support
of our operational and business platforms. The successful candidate
will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and
maintaining the diverse IT infrastructure that supports our largest
refining capacities in the United States. This role requires a
robust understanding of both hardware and software systems, as well
as a keen ability to navigate and optimize complex,
security-sensitive environments. Design, implement, and maintain
the infrastructure and platform solutions across multiple physical
and cloud environments. Ensure robust cybersecurity practices are
integrated into the infrastructure. Collaborate with various
departments to tailor IT solutions, meeting complex operational
needs. Lead projects, managing timelines, and resources to ensure
goals are met effectively and efficiently. Provide technical
leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Continuously
assess and improve system performance and security. Stay up-to-date
with the latest industry trends and technologies, implementing best
practices into the organization's IT framework. Strong proficiency
in managing both Linux and Windows-based systems. Knowledge of
virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Experience
with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Solid understanding of
network architecture and disaster recovery strategies. Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and
